「おめでとう」は、だれかが がんばったときや うれしい日に つかいます。
たんじょう日、学こうの こと、いろいろな よい日に いいます。

"Omedetou" is used for birthdays, school achievements, or any happy day.

📖 Story: Omedetou

ゆいは、きょう たんじょう日です。
あさ、おかあさんが 「ゆい、おたんじょう日 おめでとう！」と いいます。
ゆいは うれしい きもちに なります。

学こうで、友だちが 「おめでとう！」と いいます。
ゆいは 「ありがとう」と わらいます。

先生も 「きょうは ゆいの たんじょう日です。みんなで おめでとうを いいましょう」と いいます。
みんなが 「おめでとう！」と いって、ゆいは すこし はずかしいけれど、とても うれしいです。

Yui’s birthday is today.
In the morning, her mother says, “Yui, happy birthday!”
Yui feels happy.

At school, friends say, “Congratulations!”
Yui smiles and says, “Thank you.”

The teacher says, “Today is Yui’s birthday. Let’s all say congratulations!”
Everyone says, “Omedetou!”
Yui feels a little shy, but very happy.
